GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) - Video confirms the account of Gillette police officers who shot and killed a 39-year-old woman in May.

The Campbell County Attorney’s Office on Friday released video in the shooting of Gillette resident Nikki Jo Burtsfield.

She was killed by an officer on May 20 after a vehicle chase.

The Gillette News Record reports (https://bit.ly/1JbbPGU ) the police car video shows officers approaching Burtsfield’s stopped vehicle when she gets out with a knife in her hand and walks toward officers despite being told to drop the weapon a number of times.

As officers retreat, she walks out of view of the camera. There’s the sound of what is believed to be Tasers firing and then two shots.

A toxicology report shows Burtsfield had a potentially fatal dose of methamphetamine in her system.
