International negotiators in Vienna, Austria, anticipate a provisional agreement Sunday on Iran’s contested nuclear program that would limit Tehran’s atomic research in exchange for sanctions relief after nearly 10 years of diplomatic effort.
Two diplomats told the Associated Press that the agreement’s details are being hammered out and an official pact must be reviewed by the negotiating countries — Iarn, the U.S., Britain, France, China, Russia and Germay. An agreement is expected to be announced Monday.
However, senior U.S. and Iranian officials, however, cast doubt on the timing, the AP reported. All of the officials, who are at the talks, demanded anonymity because they weren’t authorized to discuss the negotiations publicly.
“We are working hard, but a deal tonight is simply logistically impossible,” the Iranian official said, noting that the agreement will run roughly 100 pages.
