SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - South Dakota corrections officials say two minimum-security inmates who escaped from a Sioux Falls prison last month have been apprehended in Wyoming.

The South Dakota Department of Corrections said in a news release that Brandon Suess and Troy Chase were taken into custody Sunday in Weston County in Wyoming. The department says they were placed on escape status after walking away from their work assignment at South Dakota State Penitentiary on June 26.

According to the department, Suess is serving an eight-year sentence for burglary and a seven-year sentence for grand theft in Custer County. Chase is under a three-year sentence for forgery in Minnehaha (mih-nee-HAH’-hah) County.
