ESTHERVILLE, Iowa (AP) - A north-central Iowa woman faces felony drunken driving and other charges after police say she hit a pedestrian in June, then sped away.

The Sioux City Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1Omw6hr ) that 43-year-old Jody Hobmeier, of Estherville, is accused of hitting 57-year-old Francie Solmonson, who was walking along the road, just after midnight on June 20.

Police say Hobmeier left, but found someone to take her back to the scene, where Solmonson was found lying in a driveway. The other person called 911 and rendered aid to Solmonson.

Hobmeier left again without speaking with responding officers. Solmonson was flown to a Sioux Falls hospital and was later released and is recovering at home.

Police have seized Hobmeier’s vehicle as evidence in the case.
