CONWAY, S.C. (AP) - The Horry County Museum is hosting a lecture on the history of Mansfield Plantation, an ancestral home restored on the Black River.
Saturday’s lecture is by Christopher Boyle, author of “Mansfield Plantation: A Legacy on the Black River.” It is at 1 p.m. in the McCown Auditorium in Conway. The event is free and open to the public.
The plantation was the home of the Man, Taylor, Lance and Parker families for more than 150 years. Although it was sold to others, family members John and Sallie Middleton Parker are now its owners. They have restored the property with an eye to allowing future generations to appreciate it.
