PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say a man has been arrested for allegedly pointing a laser at aircraft approaching Deer Valley Airport.

Phoenix police say 26-year-old Scott Hines has been booked into jail on suspicion of four counts of endangerment.

It was unclear Thursday if Hines has a lawyer yet.

Police say they were notified by the airport around 11 p.m. Wednesday that someone was pointing a green laser at aircraft on approach.

Pilots flew a police helicopter to the area and acted as if they were making an airport approach and say the aircraft was immediately hit with the green laser.

The pilots guided patrol officers to an apartment complex where Hines allegedly was spotted with the laser and arrested.
