RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Two Richmond men have been sentenced to prison after a convenience store shootout.

U.S. Attorney Dana Boente (BEN’-tay) says 24-year-old Deandre Yellardy was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in prison for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. A day earlier, 30-year-old William Bell was sentenced to seven years for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession with intent to distribute cocaine base.

According to prosecutors, on June 14, 2014, Yellardy fired several shots into a vehicle occupied by Bell in a Richmond convenience store parking lot. Bell and a passenger were wounded. Bell returned fire but missed.

Police stopped Yellardy as he as fleeing the scene. Three months later, a state trooper arrested Bell after he failed to stop for a traffic offense.
