CHESAPEAKE, Va. (AP) - A Chesapeake woman has been sentenced to 53 years in prison for her role in a 2013 homicide.
Media outlets report 40-year-old Airika Liljegren was sentenced Monday in Chesapeake Circuit Court.
She entered Alford pleas in January to first-degree murder and concealing the body of her boyfriend’s mother, Cindy Jensen-Ellett. In an Alford plea, a defendant acknowledges there is sufficient evidence for conviction but doesn’t admit guilt.
Liljegren’s boyfriend, 36-year-old Ryan Martinez, received the same sentence earlier this year for his Alford plea to the first-degree murder of his mother’s boyfriend, Anthony Barone.
The victims’ bodies were found inside a home in July 2013.
