Robert Amos, 41, of Jackson
Occupation: Director of Allied Healthcare Educational Services.
Previous political experience: Ran unsuccessfully for mayor of Jackson as independent in 2009, as Democrat for Hinds County supervisor in 2011 and as Democrat for Jackson city council in 2013.

Mary Coleman, 69, of Jackson
Occupation: consultant.
Previous political experience: 21 years in state House of Representatives as a Democrat.

Natasha Magee-Woods, 33, of Madison
Occupation: Lawyer and college professor.
Previous political experience: None.

Jimmie Mills, 78, of Tupelo
Occupation: civil engineer, former executive director of Tombigbee River Valley Water Management District.
Previous political experience: None.

Mike Tagert, 44, of Starkville
Occupation: current Transportation Commissioner, former administrator of Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway Development Authority.
Previous Political Experience: won election to Transportation Commissioner in nonpartisan February 2011 special election, won November 2011 general election as Republican.
