LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say they’re investigating the death of a female jail inmate in Lake Havasu City.

La Paz County Sheriff’s officials say 54-year-old Beverly Pool was found unresponsive in her cell during a routine security check last Saturday morning.

She later was pronounced dead by emergency responders.

Sheriff’s officials say Pool had been arrested the previous evening and had been placed in the booking area holding cell of the county detention facility until her initial court appearance.

They say she apparently died in her sleep, but authorities are awaiting the results of an autopsy for a cause of death.

Today’s News-Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1Jz8d6l) that Pool’s family has started an online fund to pay for her funeral.

She reportedly was the mother of 10 children and two of the siblings died recently.
