PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say the death of a 77-year-old woman whose body was found in a burning home in Pueblo is being investigated as a homicide.

Police Sgt. Eric Gonzales tells The Pueblo Chieftain (https://goo.gl/8FApko ) that emergency crews found the woman as they extinguished a small fire at the home Wednesday morning. Soon after the fire was put out, the scene became a police investigation.

Gonzales said Thursday he could not discuss what investigators discovered that led them to determine the death is a homicide. Police have not released the woman’s name or any information about any possible suspects.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is helping with the probe.
