NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - A Portsmouth man accused of leading a heroin trafficking ring has pleaded guilty to a distribution charge.

Media outlets report 34-year-old Alonzo Outten entered the plea Thursday in federal court in Norfolk.

Outten faces up to 20 years in prison. Sentencing has been set for Nov. 2.



Outten’s girlfriend and two other co-defendants entered guilty pleas to similar charges earlier this week.

Court records show a group led by Outten distributed as much as 198 pounds of heroin in the Hampton Roads area since November 2013.
