PHOENIX (AP) - The Arizona Department of Gaming says contributions to the state from tribal gambling revenue will be about $25.8 million for the quarter that ended on June 30.
That’s about 4.5 percent more than the same quarter in 2014.
Department of Gaming director Daniel Bergin says the increase for the fourth consecutive quarter is welcome news for state programs that get funding from the tribal money.
He says more than $12.8 million will go toward the state’s Instructional Improvement Fund for education.
Bergin says more than $6.4 million is going into the Trauma and Emergency Services Fund and about $2.3 million going toward Arizona Department of Gaming operating costs.
Fifteen tribes currently operate 23 casinos in Arizona.
