ROSWELL, N.M. (AP) - New Mexico State Police say two motorists were killed in a fiery collision involving three vehicles.

According to state police, the accident occurred late Wednesday on U.S. 380 between Roswell and Tatum.

An initial investigation indicates a pickup traveling westbound drove into the eastbound lane, colliding with a car and a tractor-trailer rig.



The car and the pickup caught fire and both drivers were killed, while the big rig’s driver was not injured.

Identities weren’t released.

According to state police, speed, inattention and alcohol were contributing factors.
