SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. (AP) - Police on Long Island are investigating an early-morning shooting at the Shinnecock Indian Reservation in Southampton.
New York State Police say it happened early Saturday morning.
Police learned of the shooting after they were called to Southampton Hospital. Few details surrounding the incident have been released.
The victim was not immediately identified. A Shinnecock spokeswoman did not respond to an email seeking comment.
Troopers allege 33-year-old Mark Williams impeded their investigation, but provided no further details. It was not immediately clear whether he had an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
Two others were shot at the reservation last month. The investigation into that shooting is still ongoing.
