BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, Ohio (AP) - A commercial building in suburban Cleveland has been destroyed by a large fire that broke out overnight.

Police officers saw the fire around 3:30 a.m. at a packaging materials plant in Brooklyn Heights, and several fire departments responded. A hazardous materials crew was also called to the scene.

The Northeast Ohio Media Group reports the fire was largely contained by late Monday morning, but crews remained on the scene to put out hotspots.

The fire gutted most of the building and caused the roof to collapse. No injuries have been reported.

The flames and smoke were visible to commuters on Interstate 77 and Interstate 480 south of Cleveland early Monday.

Crews continued to investigate the cause of the fire.
