CLINTON, Tenn. (AP) - A former nurse charged with falsifying log sheets in the wake of the death of an Anderson County inmate now faces a federal civil-rights lawsuit.

The Knoxville News Sentinel (https://bit.ly/1H3cB8G ) reports that former nurse Billy Joe Brockman of Clinton, Tennessee is being sued by Adrianne Hailey on behalf of deceased inmate Christopher Sullivan’s two sons.

Brockman’s employer, Advanced Correctional Healthcare Inc., co-worker Jeremiah Wood and Anderson County are also named in the lawsuit.

The 49-year-old Brockman was indicted in March on charges that he falsified documents. Prosecutors say Brockman did not actually check on Sullivan shortly before Sullivan died in July 2014 of an overdose.

Brockman’s attorney Scott Lanzon was not immediately available for comment.

Anderson County and Advanced Correctional have not yet filed responses. Both have denied wrongdoing.
