LAWRENCE, Mass. (AP) - Three men arrested on drug charges after their downstairs neighbor was found shot in her bed, apparently through her ceiling, have been ordered held on high bail.

Prosecutors have not charged the man in the death Saturday of 41-year-old Mirta Rivera. The men’s lawyers said there’s no direct evidence linking them to her death.

The men - 23-year-old Christopher Paganmoux,35-year-old Jose Lara and 38-year-old Wilton Lara-Calmona - pleaded not guilty Monday to charges including heroin and cocaine trafficking.

Prosecutors said police investigating Rivera’s death found a hole in her bedroom ceiling and another hole in the floor of the upstairs apartment, along with a fresh smell of gunpowder. Police found a stolen rifle outside that matched a bullet found in Rivera’s mattress, and a cache of drugs packaged for sale.
