TUMWATER, Wash. (AP) - The Washington State Patrol says an 8-year-old Nevada boy has died of his injuries following a four-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 near Tumwater over the weekend.

The patrol said Tuesday that the boy, from Reno, died at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle late Sunday. He has not been identified. Two others were injured in the crash.

The four-vehicle crashed happened around 8:38 a.m. Saturday as troopers were wrapping up an investigation into another deadly crash in the same area a few hours earlier.

Trooper Guy Gill says vehicles were slowing through the area because of the investigation. He says a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV, driving at freeway speeds, crashed into the back of a Toyota Sienna van that had slowed, pushing it into other vehicles on the freeway.

The boy was riding in the van.
