FORT SMITH, Ark. (AP) - A chain of discount furniture retail stores is moving its corporate headquarters and manufacturing operations from Oklahoma to Arkansas.
Furniture Factory Outlet on Tuesday announced the move from Muldrow, Oklahoma, to Fort Smith, Arkansas. The move will create 64 new full-time jobs in Fort Smith.
The state Economic Development Commission says the new headquarters will be located in the 618,000 square-foot Spartan Logistics Building that once housed the former Whirlpool distribution center. FFO will occupy approximately 180,000 square feet.
FFO has had a presence in Arkansas since it opened its first store in Fort Smith in 1984. The company owns and operates 36 retail stores in the Midwest, including 17 in Arkansas.
