MORRISTOWN, N.J. (AP) - A 29-year-old man serving a life sentence for setting up the fatal shooting of his wife has admitted to tampering with two witnesses and trying to get an inmate to threaten his wife’s family.

Kashif Parvaiz (par-VEHZ’) pleaded guilty Monday to witness tampering and aggravated assault.

Parvaiz is serving a life sentence for scheming with his Massachusetts girlfriend to kill his wife and make it look like a random act. The August 2011 shooting occurred while Parvaiz and 27-year-old Nazish Noorani walked with their son.

Antoinette Stephen pleaded guilty to murder and other offenses and testified against him. She was having an affair with Parvaiz and has admitted firing the fatal shots.

John Latoracca, Parvaiz’s attorney, says his client is appealing February’s murder conviction.
