SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) - Two men who were released after being arrested in the 2013 death of a San Bernardino County man are in custody again in connection to the same crime.

Sheriff’s officials said this week that 42-year-old Christopher Batchelor and 40-year-old Joshua Kemp were arrested June 30 on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter.

The two were initially held in April 2013 in connection to the death of 46-year-old David Quijas. The Running Springs resident was found with upper body trauma and later died at a hospital.

After an autopsy, prosecutors turned down the case and Batchelor and Kemp were released.

Officials did not say why the district attorney’s office reopened the case.

The defendants, both Lake Arrowhead residents, are being held in lieu of $250,000 bail. It wasn’t immediately known if the men have lawyers.
