GARDENA, Calif. (AP) - Police say a woman was killed and four others were injured after a two-vehicle collision at a Gardena intersection sent a car through the wall of a popular doughnut shop.

Los Angeles County Fire Dispatch Supervisor Ed Pickett says five people were hospitalized following the crash Tuesday evening.

A 30-year-old woman from Huntington Park later died from her injuries. She was a passenger in one of the cars, which had three people in it.

The four other victims, including a 6-year-old boy in the same car, suffered minor injuries. City News Service says one of those hurt was an employee of the Donut King II, which is marked by a large doughnut sign on its roof.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Officials say there was no immediate indication that drugs or alcohol were involved.
