CINCINNATI (AP) - The annual Paddlefest down the Ohio River in the Cincinnati area has been rescheduled for Sunday, Aug. 2.
High water and heavy rain forced postponement of the event from its original scheduled date of June 20. Organizer Brewster Rhoads says it was the first postponement in 14 years.
The U.S. Coast will close the Ohio to commercial and powerboat traffic from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. as some 1,400 canoes and kayaks travel 8.2 miles from Coney Island east of Cincinnati to the downtown landing. Other events include races and a finish-line festival with live music.
