WASHINGTON (AP) - District of Columbia officials are kicking off AlleyPalooza, a campaign to repair or renovate alleys throughout the city.

City officials say the kickoff will be Wednesday at an alley on Eastern Avenue in northeast. Officials say they will repair or renovate 64 alleys, eight in each of the eight wards. City officials say the alleys were selected based on community feedback, including 311 calls and a review by transportation officials.

The city already has a Potholepalooza, an annual campaign to fill in potholes.
