OCALA, Fla. (AP) - The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the death of a 35-year-old Ocala man who had been detained by police.

The Ocala Star-Banner (https://bit.ly/1dM0KTS ) reports Ocala police officers were called to a home Tuesday morning after a man was “acting unusual” in the driveway of a home.

Three people at the home told officer that Bryan Omar Young had possibly used narcotics. The officers handcuffed Young as they continued talking to witnesses. Police said officers noticed Young’s condition was deteriorating, so they removed the handcuffs and started performing CPR. They called for an ambulance.

Young was taken to Munroe Regional Medical Center where he was declared dead just after 7 a.m.

The state agency was asked to investigate since Young died in police custody.
