AKRON, Ohio (AP) - An Akron man has been convicted of stabbing a 19-year-old landscaper who got grass clippings on his truck.
Northeast Ohio Media Group reports (https://bit.ly/1KRBUPG ) a jury found 71-year-old John Fenwick guilty of felonious assault on Tuesday.
Prosecutors say the landscaper was mowing the lawn on Aug. 15 at the duplex where Fenwick lived. He had complained about grass clippings previously and became upset over clippings inside his truck.
Fenwick pushed the landscaper, who shoved Fenwick back. The man mowed a little more before deciding to leave.
Prosecutors say Fenwick stabbed the landscaper in his left shoulder with a small knife when he got into his truck to leave.
He’s free on bond, but will wear a GPS-monitored ankle bracelet until he’s sentenced on Aug. 13.
