MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Reconstruction of a river bluff under the University of Minnesota’s medical center campus is underway, about a year after a mudslide swept down the hill.

Mud, rocks and trees tumbled to the parkway below the Fairview campus after weeks of heavy rain and narrowly missed motorists.

Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board project manager Cliff Swenson tells Minnesota Public Radio News (https://bit.ly/1S8Kbzj ) a series of retaining walls will be constructed to reinforce the hill.

The board wants to complete the $6 million project by the end of October.
