LESAGE, W.Va. (AP) - Police say two people have died and at least four others were injured in a multi-vehicle collision in Cabell County.

Sheriff Tom McComas told media outlets that the accident occurred at 12:40 p.m. Thursday along state Route 2 in Lesage.

McComas says a man and woman on a motorcycle were killed. He says three southbound motorcycles had slowed down to turn into a restaurant parking lot when they were struck from behind by a pickup truck. A northbound pickup truck served to avoid the collision, crossed the center line and struck a parked vehicle.

In addition to those killed, McComas says at least four people were taken to a hospital with undisclosed injuries.

The road remained closed for several hours.
