BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s deputies have arrested a Denham Springs couple in the slaying of a man whose body was found in a plastic drum at his Zachary home.

The Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/1UCL3jO) deputies arrested Jace Crehan and Brittany Monk on counts of second-degree murder.

Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks says Crehan was taken into custody Wednesday and confessed to stabbing and strangling of Robert Noce.

She says Crehan told deputies that Monk was present during Sunday’s incident, but Hicks said that detectives did not want to elaborate on Monk’s role.

Hicks says Noce had just begun serving probation for a sex crime involving a child. Hicks said she could not comment on whether the killing was connected to the conviction.

Online jail records do not list an attorney for the couple.
