TORONTO (AP) - The Toronto Maple Leafs signed defenseman Martin Marincin to a one-year contract Thursday.

Toronto acquired the 23-year-old Marincin from the Edmonton Oilers last month for forward Brad Ross and a 2015 fourth-round pick.

Marincin, a native of Kosice, Slovakia, had a goal and 10 assists in 85 games over two seasons with Edmonton.

Marincin also played for Slovakia at the 2014 Sochi Olympics.

Edmonton selected Marincin in the second round. No. 46 overall, in the 2010 draft.
