HOUMA, La. (AP) - Eagle Dry Docks has won the latest round in its effort to avoid being evicted from the Port of Terrebonne.

The Courier reports (https://bit.ly/1fqci13) the First Circuit Court of Appeal in Baton Rouge issued a ruling Tuesday to uphold a local judge’s decision against the eviction.

The ruling is a setback for the port, which now has 30 days to determine whether it will appeal to the state Supreme Court.

The port alleges Eagle Dry Docks owner Ronnie Chiasson violated his tenant contract by not correctly designing anti-erosion mats along the property or installing them in a timely manner.

Chiasson said if the port doesn’t appeal further, he’s going to move forward with a countersuit against the port.
