YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) - A Yakima County sheriff’s officer says a 14-year-old Grandview, Washington, girl was injured when she jumped off a 30-foot cliff into Rimrock Lake.

Sgt. George Town said the girl was with a group of friends Wednesday afternoon who were swimming and jumping into the lake when she complained of a spinal injury and was unable to get out.

Town says her friends got her to shore and called for help.

Medics stabilized her and she was airlifted to a Yakima hospital. Her condition was not known Wednesday night.
