WHEELING, W.Va. (AP) - The 25-year-old son of West Virginia Senate Minority Leader Jeff Kessler has pleaded guilty to distributing oxycodone.

Jacob Kessler of Glen Dale entered the plea Wednesday in federal court in Wheeling.

Federal prosecutors say an investigation found that he sold oxycodone multiple times in 2013, including near West Virginia Northern Community College.

In a statement, Jeff Kessler said Wednesday was a day of “mixed emotions” for his family. The Democrat says his son has completed a 90-day drug rehabilitation and currently resides in a recovery living facility.
