NEW YORK (AP) - A New York City woman has been cleared of all charges that she chased a woman to her death from a 14th floor balcony.

Kenya Edmonds was acquitted Monday after a Bronx jury failed to convict her in the 2012 death of 30-year-old Sienna Edwards.

The Daily News (https://nydn.us/1I8tWzm ) says Edmonds was denied bail during her 3-year Rikers Island confinement.

Authorities say Edmonds was attending her daughter’s 3-year-old birthday party in 2012 when Edwards showed up with a gift from the girl’s dad against whom Edmonds had a restraining order.

Prosecutors say a dispute ensued between the women, with Edmonds threatening Edwards with a knife. They say Edwards fled to the balcony where she fell or was pushed.

Edmonds’ attorney says no DNA evidence supported the knife claim.
