UINTAH, Utah (AP) - A Utah man was arrested on Father’s Day after being accused of beating his teenage daughter while teaching her to drive.
Authorities said 41-year-old Bart Harold Roberts faces a child abuse charge after being arrested on Sunday.
The Weber County Sheriff’s office said Roberts was instructing his 15-year-old daughter to back up a truck in a family member’s driveway in Uintah but she struggled to maneuver it.
She was yelled at and hit in the leg before hitting her father back in the arm.
Police said the confrontation continued until a neighbor intervened.
She was reportedly struck up to seven times and found with a bruise mark on her arm.
The father has since bailed out of jail.
