SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - Sentencing has been postponed for the daughter of President Barack Obama’s former minister for her role in a state-grant fraud scheme.

Jeri L. Wright’s attorney told a federal judge at a Thursday hearing that he hadn’t been able to discuss with his client additional allegations prosecutors made in a sentencing report.

The judge postponed the sentencing until July 9.

The government is seeking a longer sentence because Wright allegedly defrauded an Indiana company of $8,000 while awaiting trial. That’s the information Wright’s attorney says he hasn’t talked with her about.

Wright was convicted in March 2014 in a case that involved a $1.25 million state grant.

Wright is the daughter of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, whose contentious statements were an issue in Obama’s 2008 campaign.
