SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) - Officials in Spartanburg say three people have died following a fiery crash involving a tanker truck and at least one other vehicle on Interstate 26.

S.C. Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Bill Rhyne confirmed the two deaths in Saturday’s crash. North Spartanburg Assistant Fire Chief Brent Lewis said a third person injured in the wreck also died,

Lewis said the westbound lanes of the interstate could be closed for several hours.

There’s no immediate word on the cause of the accident. The identities of the victims haven’t been released.
