IRVING, Texas (AP) - A suspicious traffic stop near Dallas has led police to warn about a man in a uniform pretending to be an officer.

Irving police on Friday released details of a traffic stop in which a man wearing what appeared to be a Rowlett police uniform stopped a female driver.

She became wary as the officer pulled her over Tuesday and told her she faced arrest warrants. She refused to get out of her car and called Irving police.

The fake officer jumped into his black and white Dodge Charger, which had emergency lights and the word “Rowlett” on the side, and drove away.

Rowlett police say the man does not work for the department.

The suspect has a tattoo on his right index finger with the word “Savior.”
