COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Active-duty and veteran military personnel and their families will be able to visit a zoo in central Ohio for free this week in recognition of their sacrifices in service to their country.

Columbus Zoo officials say the free admission to the zoo and discounted admission to Zoombezi Bay water park will be available starting Monday and continuing through July 5.

Military personnel will need to show a military ID or present proof of service to receive the admission offer.

Zoo officials say family members of military personnel eligible for the offer include spouses and any children living in the household.

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is home to more than 10,000 animals representing over 575 species.
