WASHINGTON (AP) - Police say a man broke into a woman’s home and sexually assaulted her in the same wealthy northwest Washington neighborhood where a family was slain last month.

The burglary and sexual assault occurred around 4 a.m. Saturday. Police say they are searching for a man in his early 20s.

The female victim’s home is in the Woodley Park neighborhood, about three blocks from the home of the Savopoulos family. Last month, Savvas Savopoulos, his wife, their 10-year-old son and a housekeeper were slain before their house was set on fire. A man who once worked for Savopoulous has been charged in their deaths.

Violent crime is rare in the neighborhood, which is near Vice President Joe Biden’s official residence and is heavily patrolled by both local and federal law enforcement.
