ISSAQUAH, Wash. (AP) - Four people have been arrested after leading police on a chase in King County and firing at a Snoqualmie police patrol car.

A Snoqualmie city spokeswoman says a 24-year-old female driver was booked into King County jail early Monday for investigation of rendering criminal assistance and felony eluding. Her 9-month old son, who was in the car at the time, was eventually released to his grandmother.

A 20-year-old male passenger was jailed on investigation of assault with a deadly weapon and other charges. Two other 19-year-olds were jailed on investigation of obstructing.



The incident began around 11:30 p.m. Sunday when an officer spotted a suspicious car at a mall in North Bend. As the officer tried to stop the vehicle, the driver sped away and got onto Interstate 90 heading west toward Issaquah.

Authorities say a passenger fired multiple times at the patrol car. The officer was not hurt.

The four were taken into custody with the help of King County SWAT and helicopter units.
