HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) - Harrisonburg attorney William W. Eldridge IV has been temporarily appointed as a general district court judge for the 26th Judicial Circuit.

The Daily News-Record (https://bit.ly/1Js9w84 ) reports that Eldridge will be sworn in on July 8. He will serve until the Virginia General Assembly names a permanent judge to fill the position.

The vacancy was created when Judge Richard A. Claybrook Jr. resigned on May 31.



The circuit serves Clarke, Page, Rockingham, Shenandoah and Warren counties and the cities of Harrisonburg and Winchester.

The 36-year-old Eldridge is a partner with Eldridge & Nagy.
