LAS VEGAS (AP) - A newborn baby has died days after a pregnant woman was struck by a car near the Circus Circus hotel-casino in Las Vegas.

The Clark County Coroner’s office said Monday that the boy has died, although his identity hasn’t been released.

The boy was born through a medical procedure after a 27-year-old Las Vegas woman who was six months pregnant was rushed to the hospital on Friday. Both were initially hospitalized in critical condition.

Authorities say the woman was struck by a 2014 Ford Focus car while she was walking outside a marked crosswalk on Circus Circus Drive west of Las Vegas Boulevard on Friday just before 10 p.m.

The 24-year-old Las Vegas man driving the car was not hurt.

No charges have been filed although the investigation continues.
