CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Authorities have installed two billboards in the Charleston area to try to spark leads in an unsolved slaying of a 7-Eleven district manager with no known enemies.
The billboards feature a smiling photo of Robert Snow, along with the words, “Do You Know Who Murdered Me? REWARD!!” the Charleston Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1JiQP3P ). One is located in downtown Charleston, the other along an interstate exit outside of the city.
Snow, 55, was found floating in the Elk River in May 2012, his hands and feet bound with duct tape.
Charleston Police Department Detective Canden Sharp said Snow seemed to be very well-liked and multiple possible suspects have been cleared.
“I have yet to interrogate anyone who didn’t like Robert,” Sharp said.
Sharp said he requested that the billboards be put up because he does not want the cold case to fade away from public consciousness.
“A lot of cold cases are cold because they’re forgotten about,” Sharp said.
Prima Marketing, which used to be the licensee for the 7-Eleven that Snow worked at, paid for one of the billboards at a cost of $1,800. Charleston Police Chief Brent Webster approved $1,600 from the police department budget for the other.
Snow was last seen on the evening of May 23, 2012, inside the 7-Eleven at Bigley Avenue and Spring Street. Three days after he disappeared, his body was spotted by Memorial Day boaters in the area of the Slack Street boat ramp in the Elk River. Sharp said that the cause of death was eventually ruled drowning.
Snow’s ex-wife Annette Snow said she has faith that Sharp will someday solve the case.
“He believes it, and I believe him,” she said.
