CORONA, Calif. (AP) - A man was killed and a woman was injured after their single-engine plane struck a cellphone tower in Southern California.

The Press-Enterprise of Riverside reports (https://bit.ly/1FKPKNg ) the orange-and-black aircraft crashed Sunday after hitting the tree-like cell tower in Riverside County.

The coroner on Monday identified the victim as 55-year-old William Dalo.



Fire Battalion Chief Richard Owens says the woman was ejected during the crash, but remained conscious and called authorities. Her name has not been released.

Fire crews had to wait for Southern California Edison workers to arrive and switch off the tower’s electrical supply.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
