SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - A mom is joining her son in facing charges related to the death of 6-year-old Jadianna Larsen, whose burned body was found Thursday about 90 miles from her Sacramento home.

The Sacramento Bee reports (https://bit.ly/1KMFxaM) 25-year-old Juan Rivera and 46-year-old Lisa Suzanne Burton were arraigned Tuesday in Sacramento court.

Prosecutors say Rivera killed Jadianna using a blunt-force instrument and that Burton was an accessory after the fact. Rivera was the boyfriend of Jadianna’s mother, Tanecia Clark.

Family members say Clark was away for mental health treatment when her daughter went missing.

Rivera told investigators he suffered a nine-hour bout of seizures Thursday and when it was over, he noticed Jadianna was missing.

The mom and son will next appear in court June 12. Assistant Chief Deputy District Attorney Rod Norgaard says the investigation is ongoing.
