ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - Police have charged 16-year-old twin brothers in the fatal stabbing of a Rochester teenager this week.

Authorities say Juan Mojena (moh-HAY’-nuh) was charged with second-degree murder and his brother Darvis was charged with attempted assault in Tuesday afternoon’s killing of 16-year-old Nelson Trenton.

Police say Trenton was stabbed in the torso outside a pawn shop and was later pronounced dead at Strong Memorial Hospital.

Officials say Trenton knew the brothers. Police haven’t said yet what led to the attack.

The victim was a freshman at a Rochester public high school where he played football and basketball.

The Mojena brothers are scheduled to be arraigned Thursday morning in Rochester City Court. It couldn’t be determined if they have an attorney who could comment on the charges.
