NEW YORK (AP) - A snow alert and travel advisory are in effect in New York City until Monday morning.
Light snow began falling early Sunday afternoon. Meteorologists say four to six inches of snow is expected to fall.
The snow has disrupted some flights at JFK and LaGuardia airports. Passengers are advised to check with their airline before heading out.
The National Weather Service says the snow will mix with or change to freezing rain Sunday evening. The ice and snow is expected to taper off before the Monday morning commute but roads and walkways could be slippery.
About 2-to-4 inches of snow, with up to a tenth of an inch of ice, are expected by the time it all ends.
Temperatures on Sunday hovered around 30 degrees.
