NEW YORK (AP) - New York City police have arrested a man for allegedly beating a homeless man to death in a Brooklyn park.

Police say the 45-year-old victim was walking through Highland Park when he was attacked near Jamaica Avenue and Essex Street around 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Police say the suspect, 36-year-old Abel Palma, was charged with assault in connection with the fatal attack.



According to the Daily News (https://nydn.us/1vOl5jY ), the victim was left lying in the cold for four hours.

The victim, who was not identified, was taken to a hospital where he died.
